IIT Madras @iitmadrasofficial becomes the first IIT in India to introduce ‘Fine Arts and Culture Excellence‘ (FACE) admissions, starting from the 2025-26 academic year. This program aspires to acknowledge and support students who have given outstanding achievements in the areas of art and culture. There will be 2 supernumerary seats available for all the B.Tech and BS courses, one reserved for a woman candidate and the other will be gender neutral for inclusiveness.
The candidates eligible for this examination will have to qualify for JEEAdvanced 2025, and their Class XII performance will have to be in line with the IIT admission criteria. The applicants must have received prestigious recognitions in fine arts and culture, such as the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, active certifications from All India Radio/ Doordarshan or any certification mentioned on the website.
Students will be required to apply through a different portal – https://jeeadv.iitm.ac.in/face , where based on their achievements a FACE Rank List will be prepared.
This unique admission process is part of IIT Madras’s efforts to pay its respect to India’s vast cultural heritage and give this generation of young artists the chance to pursue world-class technical education.
